Terms
Last updated 31 October 2026
QuickByte is free and comes without a warranty. What you download with it is your responsibility.
These terms cover the QuickByte app, its browser extension and this website ("QuickByte"), published by Cyberliberty, Inc. ("we"). By installing or using QuickByte, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Using QuickByte
You may install and use QuickByte free of charge on any computer you're allowed to use. QuickByte and its name and logo remain ours. Publishing the source code on GitHub doesn't grant any rights beyond those stated here, or in a license file in that repository if one is added.
What you download
QuickByte is a tool, and you decide what it fetches. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to download and keep each file, and for following the law and the terms of the sites you use.
Don't use QuickByte to:
- infringe copyright or other rights;
- get around access controls, such as signing in with an account that isn't yours;
- overload a server or disrupt a service;
- break any law that applies to you.
Files come from third parties, and we don't check, host or endorse them. Running a downloaded file is at your own risk.
Updates
QuickByte checks for new versions when it starts. It installs one only after you ask it to. New versions may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering QuickByte at any time.
Your computer
Some features act on your computer because you've set them up: a queue can wake it, and a download or queue can put it to sleep, hibernate it or shut it down when finished. You choose whether to use them. Save your work before relying on them.
No warranty
QuickByte is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be error-free, that it will increase your download speed, or that any file will arrive complete. Keep your own copies of anything that matters.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, profits or files, arising from your use of QuickByte. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for QuickByte, which is nothing.
Some places don't allow these limits. Where that's the case, they apply only as far as the law permits, and your rights as a consumer aren't affected.
Stopping
You can stop at any time by uninstalling QuickByte. Your permission to use it ends if you break these terms.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Using QuickByte after a change means you accept the new terms.
